Reading the Calendar

Explanation with example for the task type kalender.

The calendar shows the days in rows by weekday.
A red circle shows today.
Count forward for later and backward for earlier.
The filled-in example next to it shows the answer.

What does this exercise practice?

The child finds their way around the calendar and links counting forward and backward with the words earlier and later.

Common pitfalls

The marked day itself is not counted. The first step already leads to the next day.

How to practice at home

Using the family calendar, work out together which day it is in three days or which day it was two days ago.
