Connect the Dots

Every dot carries a number. Connect the dots in order with a line, for example 1 to 2, then 2 to 3, and so on, until every number has had its turn.

In the end you will see a picture. You can even color it in afterwards.

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

Connecting the dots playfully trains the number sequence up to 20; instead of calculating, the child counts numbers in a fixed order and immediately sees a visible result.

Common pitfalls

Some children skip numbers when they get impatient. Remind them to always continue with the next number, even if the next dot is far away.

How to practice at home

Write numbers from 1 to 15 scattered across a sheet of paper together and connect them in order. What picture could appear?
