In the grid each child is on the left and each number is on top.
Take one clue at a time. A clue like "Mia does not have the 14" rules out one square.
If only one square is left in a row, that is the answer - and no other child can be in that column.

What does this exercise practice?
The logic grid practises pure reasoning: deriving something certain from "not" statements, with no calculation at all.
Common pitfalls
Children often want to guess instead of ticking off. It helps to read each clue out loud and put it into the grid straight away before moving on.
How to practice at home
Act it out with three soft toys and three slips of paper: who gets which slip? Say the clues first, then hand them out.
