Plan from above

Imagine looking down at the tower from the ceiling.
Each square of the plan stands for one place on the base, and the number says how high the stack is there.
Count the stacks one by one and compare them square by square with the plans.

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

The plan practises switching between a spatial view and a top view - a basic geometry skill.

Common pitfalls

The stacks at the back are partly hidden. Count from front to back and remember to include the hidden cubes.

How to practice at home

Build a small tower with blocks, photograph it from above and draw the plan.
