Take all the stones from the hollow with the arrow into your hand.
Now drop them one by one into the hollows after it - one stone per hollow, always in order.
Once you pass the last hollow, you carry on at the first one. Count along until your hand is empty.

For parents
What does this exercise practice?
The sowing game practises counting on past a boundary - the same move of thinking that is later needed for crossing the ten.
Common pitfalls
A common mistake is counting the starting hollow or stopping at the end of the row. The first stone already goes into the next hollow, and after the last one you carry on at the front.
How to practice at home
Build real hollows from an egg carton and some beans, and actually drop the stones in one by one.
