Tower Combinations

You have a few blocks, each with its own pattern.
Stack them into a tower in every possible order - no tower may look the same as another one.
At the end, count how many different towers you found.

What does this exercise practice?

Tower combinations practice systematic counting of arrangements (permutations) without a formula - the child discovers that the number of possibilities multiplies with each additional block.

Common pitfalls

Without a system, it is easy to forget a tower or draw the same one twice. It helps to always start with the same block on top and then swap systematically.

How to practice at home

Try out all the orders with 2-3 real building blocks (or toy figures, socks) and count together how many there are.
