Crossing Ten on the Twenty Frame

Explanation with example for the task type zwanzigerfeld_zehneruebergang.

The twenty frame has two rows with ten spaces each.
Place the first number and fill the top row up to ten.
The remaining dots go into the second row.
That way you see crossing the ten right in front of you.
The filled-in example next to it shows the answer.

What does this exercise practice?

The twenty frame shows crossing the ten as filling up the first row and supports calculating with pictures.

Common pitfalls

The top row fills up first. Only when ten are there does the second row begin.

How to practice at home

Use twenty counters in two rows and, when calculating, always fill the first row first.
