Multiplying means: adding the same thing again and again!
3 × 4 means: 3 groups with 4 things each.
So: 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
2 × 5 means: 2 groups with 5 things each.
So: 5 + 5 = 10
## Swap problems
3 × 4 = 4 × 3, the result is always the same!
3 × 4 = 12 and 4 × 3 = 12
## Dot array
You can also see multiplying as a dot array:
3 × 4 = 3 rows with 4 dots each = 12 dots
*Tip: learn the times tables one after another, the 2s, 5s and 10s first!*
The numbers filled in show the solution.
Example
3×4=12
2×5=10
