Marking table

The table shows the numbers in order.
You count in steps and mark every number that you land on.
Two different step sizes get two different marks.

Example: When counting in twos, mark with a cross: 2, 4, 6, 8 and so on.
When counting in fives, circle: 5, 10, 15, 20. The 10 and the 20 have both marks.

Example

  • Cross (×2): 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
  • Circle (×5): 5, 10, 15, 20
  • Both marks: 10, 20

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

Common pitfalls

Children sometimes mark every number with the same sign. Make sure each step size keeps its own sign.
