In every column there are two numbers, one at the top and one at the bottom.
Choose exactly one number from every column so that the sum is right.
There is always only one path that gives exactly the target sum.
Example: target sum 9
Column 1: top 2, bottom 5. Column 2: top 3, bottom 7.
Try it: 2 + 3 = 5, 2 + 7 = 9, 5 + 3 = 8, 5 + 7 = 12.
Only 2 + 7 makes 9, that is the right path.
