Place Value Chart

In the place value chart you show each number in tens (Z) and ones (E).

Example: 47 has 4 tens and 7 ones.
So the chart shows Z=4 and E=7.

You can also work the other way round, build the number from Z and E!
The numbers already filled in show the solution.

Example

  • 4,7
  • 38

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

The place value chart makes bundling into tens and ones visible.

Common pitfalls

The order matters, tens on the left, ones on the right. Swapping them changes the number.

How to practice at home

Bundle with sticks, 10 sticks make one tens bundle.
