Some things happen for sure, others maybe and some never.
There are three words for that: certain, possible and impossible.
In an urn (that is a bag) there are marbles.
You draw a marble without looking.
Example: in the urn there are filled and empty marbles.
I draw a filled or an empty marble, that is certain (there are only those).
I draw a filled marble, that is possible (there are filled and empty ones).
I draw a dotted marble, that is impossible (none of them is dotted).

Children often mix up possible and certain. Certain means it cannot be any other way. Possible means it can happen, but does not have to.
