When you add in columns, you work one column at a time.
The ones go under the ones, the tens under the tens.
Here is how you do it:
1. First add the ones and write the result on the far right.
2. Then add the tens and write them in the tens column.
3. With bigger numbers the hundreds come next.
When the result in a column is greater than 9, a carry goes into the next column.
The numbers filled in show the solution.
