Digit Swap

In a digit swap the two digits change places.
The tens become ones and the ones become tens.

Example: The number 62 has 6 tens and 2 ones.
You turn it around: 62 becomes 26.

The number you write in shows the answer.

Example

  • 26
  • 74
  • 53
  • 18

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

Recognise the tens and ones of a number and swap their places.

Common pitfalls

Many children just write the same number again. Make sure the first and the second digit really change places.

How to practice at home

Take turns naming numbers and swap them around. Whoever says the swapped number first gets a point.
