You can split an even number into two equal halves without anything left over.
An odd number always leaves a remainder of one.
Tip: only look at the last digit, even with big numbers!
If the number ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8, it is even.
If the number ends in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9, it is odd.
Example: 124 is even (ends in 4), 357 is odd (ends in 7).
