On the number line the numbers stand in a row.
Some numbers are missing, find them!
First look at what steps the line counts in, then fill in the missing numbers.
The numbers filled in show the solution.

What does this exercise practice?
This exercise fosters understanding of the number order up to 1000 and shows that numbers on a line are evenly spaced.
Common pitfalls
Children often overlook the step of the line. A line up to 1000 usually counts in steps of 50 or 100, not in ones. First compare two labelled marks, then fill in the gaps.
How to practice at home
Look at a tape measure or ruler: which numbers are printed on it, which are missing between the marks? That is a number line you can touch.
