Some things are certain to happen, others might happen and some never happen.
There are three words for this, certain, possible and impossible.
In an urn (that is a bag) there are marbles with different patterns.
You draw a marble without looking.
Example: The urn holds filled and empty marbles.
Drawing a filled or empty marble is certain (there are only those).
Drawing a filled marble is possible (there are filled and empty ones).
Drawing a striped marble is impossible (none is striped).

Learn to assess events using the terms certain, possible and impossible.
Common pitfalls
Children often mix up possible and certain. Certain means it cannot be otherwise. Possible means it might happen, but does not have to.
How to practice at home
Play with a die. Is it possible to roll a 6 (yes)? Is it certain to roll a number (yes)? Is a 7 possible (no, impossible)?
