Table of Values

In the table of values, the numbers are on top.
Doubling means: the number plus itself. Write the double underneath.
Example: On top is 40. Double is 40 + 40 = 80, so you write 80 under the 40.
For big numbers, splitting helps: double of 250 is 200 + 200 and 50 + 50, so 500.
The numbers filled in show the solution.

Example

  • 80
  • 150
  • 500

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

Confidently double large values too and enter them clearly in a table.

Common pitfalls

Children sometimes put the answer in the wrong column. It helps to trace with a finger from top to bottom.

How to practice at home

At home, draw a small table with tens and hundreds numbers and fill in the doubles together.
