There are four cards under the golem. Each card goes on exactly one foot.
Two feet next to each other make the knee above them, and both knees together make the hips.
The sign = between the knees means both knees are the same. Keep trying until it is true.
Example
For parents
What does this exercise practice?
The child places numbers so that two sums fit a given relation. It practices adding, comparing with less than, equal to and greater than, and trying things out with a plan.
Common pitfalls
The hips are always the sum of all four cards, no matter how they are placed. Which two cards sit under a knee only changes the knees.
How to practice at home
Lay out four playing cards and look for all the ways to split them into two pairs together. Which pair is bigger?
